My internship at WCA spanned two summers, eventually evolving into a part time job at one of their interior design showrooms, West Out East, located in Miami's Coconut Grove.
I loved so much about my time at WCA, especially the fact that West Chin, the owner of the firm, kept me very busy on a variety of different things. Whether it was making 3D printer models of our sites, researching materials, fixtures, and appliances, reaching out to consultants, working on bid sets, or even knocking down walls, I experienced a full range of escalating responsibilities and learned a ton about practicality, teamwork, community, and precision.
Working under West and his team allowed me to become a better version of myself, and also helped me prepare for my career as a future architect.
This was my desk during my second summer at WCA. With floor plan mark ups front and center, a material bin to the left, and a screen with some AutoCAD work, my days at work were busy yet rewarding ones!
